With a steam oxide finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the flute, giving you accurate threads, the 1595 hand taps are available to cut unc and unf thread forms. They are manufactured from high speed steel, which provides great performance coupled with a longer tool life, and conform to ansi standards. With a straight flute making them suitable for threading both through and blind holes, 1599 taps are application products, designed for hand tapping cast iron and short chipping materials.
