1500a union butterfield hand taps are available for unc and unf threads with a plug chamfer (plus 1/4 unf bottoming tap). They are recommended for hand tapping many materials including steel, cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum, with a steam oxide finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tap for cleaner, more accurate threads. Including a straight flute for threading both through and blind holes, 1500a hand taps are manufactured to conform to ansi standards and made from high speed steel for superior performance and extended tool life.
