Recommended for use on older equipment which is not sufficiently rigid to accommodate the free cutting action of the standard 1534 taps and for applications requiring close gauging fits, 1534nr non-relieved taps from union butterfield come in sizes to produce unc and unf thread forms, plus size 4 in uns, and are manufactured from high speed steel for good performance and long tool life. They have a bright finish which will produce accurate threads by preventing workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges of the tool and a spiral point for threading through holes. These ansi standard taps can be used for tapping many materials including steel and stainless steel. (available with a longer shank as 1534ne).
