1687ap machine taps are part of the union butterfield applix range of taps. Suitable for tapping softer materials such as stainless steel, aluminum and free machining steel, they have a fluteless design with lubrication grooves for efficient, chip free threading of through and blind holes and come in sizes to produce metric coarse and metric fine thread forms. Manufactured to conform to both din and the american national standards institute, the taps are made from premium powder metal high speed steel to improve tool life and provide great performance, whilst the titanium nitride coating further enhances tool life and gives better performance when threading under high pressure and friction.
